3. Connect the JLR approved diagnostic equipment to the vehicle and begin a new session. 4. Follow the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment prompts. 5. Select 'Diagnosis' Session Type. 6. Select the following symptom: Electrical - Information and Entertainment System - Entertainment System - Telematics Control Module 7.
If it’s defective, replace it. Check the Starter Motor: If the starter relay is fine, then perform a voltage test on the starter motor. If it’s not getting power, replace it. Check the Ignition Switch: If the starter motor and relay are working fine but the engine still won’t start, then the ignition switch may be the problem.
Cooling fan request. The A/C fan request is an input to the ECM from the ATC ECU to request that the engine's electric cooling fan is activated to provide additional cooling for the A/C condenser. The cooling fan relay is located in the engine compartment fuse box and is also controlled by the ECM. It is a four pin normally open relay.
We can see from NHTSA complaints about the Land Rover Defender for the past 4 models, that they start slowly and then intensify. NHTSA records show that by mid-October 2022 the 2020 model has 23 complaints, the 2021 model has 12, and the 2022 model has 19.
